Easter Services at St Thomas’s Church

As we prepare to mark the death of Jesus and celebrate his resurrection this Easter, we have a number of opportunities at St T’s to worship and pray together. We hope you’ll be able to join us for several of them!

Preparation for Holy Week: Thurs 25th and Friday 26th March

Reflective Service with Prayer Ministry: Thurs 25th March 8-9pm on Zoom. An hour of reflections exploring ‘The Things He Carried’ with the opportunity for prayer ministry. Join the Reflective Service

Evening of Extended Sung Worship: Friday 26th March, 8pm on the church’s YouTube channel: space to sit and soak in God’s presence with acoustic-style sung worship. Join the Evening of Sung Worship

Holy Week: 29th March – 3rd April

Holy Week Meditations: Mon 29th to Thursday 1st April. Each morning, a 10-minute meditation will be released on the church’s Youtube channel, exploring different aspects of ‘The Things He Carried’ and including a song or piece of music. Join the Meditations

The 7pm does Holy Week: every night at 7pm in Holy Week, from Palm Sunday right through to Easter Sunday, the 7pm@Home team will be coming to you from the church’s YouTube channel , exploring Jesus’ journey to the cross and beyond, in Mark’s gospel. Join the 7pm does Holy Week

Daily Prayer continues through Holy Week – meeting on Zoom at 8am (Mon – Fri using Lectio 365) and at 9.30pm (daily, using Compline).

Worship on Wednesday – this will be recorded in the building at 11am on Monday 29th March (book to come in-person via Church Suite) and then broadcast on YouTube on Wednesday morning 31st March, followed by a Zoom Chat at 11.45am. Maundy Thursday Communion, 7.30pm, 1st April: we will be holding a short reflective communion service (30-40 mins) in the church building – book to come in person through Church Suite. This service will not be available online, but the 7pm@Home will be live on YouTube at 7pm. Book to come to Church on Maundy Thursday

945Live! Good Friday Special, 2nd April. The 945Live! team will be leading a 30-minute all-age service on the church’s YouTube channel, using multi-sensory props and encouraging families to join in at home. Broadcast from 9.45am. Join 945Live! Good Friday Special

Good Friday Reflections at the Cross, 11am 2nd April. We will be holding a short, reflective service (30-40 minutes) drawing upon Luke’s account of the crucifixion of Jesus, and focusing on the Criminals, the Centurion, and the Council member. This will be held in the church building, with booking available via Church Suite. It will also be live-streamed onto the church’s YouTube channel so you can watch from home. 7pm@ Home – will continue to meet on the church’s Youtube channel, 7pm on Friday and Saturday. Join 7pm@ Home

Easter Sunday: 4th April

We will be celebrating Easter throughout the day, including:

- 945Live! – for children and families at 9.45am on the church’s YouTube channel Join 945Live!

Come and Celebrate Easter with 945Live! We have a 30 Mins Special on Good Friday, where you can expect our usual interactive service, with songs, and activities to help everyone explore and experience the story which starts out sad but has a very happy ending!
